Marcello Fantoni Asian Pottery Statues, 1950s Italy Hollywood Regency Raymor Era

  
For your consideration, a pair of pottery figural sculptures by Marcello Fantoni, circa 1950s Italy. The female figure is unmarked.

Since they were signed in paint over the glassy glaze, I highly suspect the previous owner inadvertently washed away the marks. Both pieces are in good vintage condition with on only minor chips and wear.

Both figures have chipping to their fingernails, which were long in the Chinese Imperial style (as are the yellow robes). The male figure is holding some type of item which also has chipping, see picture 3.

The female has chipping to her eyebrows, which were applied to the face. There's similar minor chipping to the face of the male figure as well.

Neither statue shows any signs of repair. Overall condition is reflected in the price. Female figure - 22 inches in height, base 6x7 inches.

Male figure - 21 inches in height, base 6x7 inches. Listing is for statues only.
